(Hiawatha, IA) -- HACAP Food Reservoir in Hiwatha is getting a $125,000 grant from the Amerigroup Foundation to continue the Food as Medicine program.
The grant will help the food bank as it works with local healthcare facilities to screen patients for food insecurity during visits.
HACAP says the Food is Medicine program will connect about 3,000 east central Iowans facing hunger.
