(Valley, NE) -- Severe weather brings tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail to parts of eastern Nebraska Friday afternoon.
Numerous tornadoes were confirmed by the National Weather Service up and down the eastern portion of the state from near the Columbus area, down to south of Tecumseh. The Weather Service also reported winds of 70 miles per hour and softball sized hail in areas to the north of the Omaha metro. Damage from the storms and tornados affected many farm buildings and trees across the area. The strong winds also downed powerlines and knocked over trailers and a diesel tank. A tornado in Uehling, Nebraska also caused significant damage to a commercial cattle feed lot, which led to hundreds of cattle getting loose.
Full storm damage reports won't be available for a few days.
