Iowa DOT Officers Moving To Iowa State Patrol

(Undated) -- Iowa Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Enforcement officers, will be moving to the Iowa State Patrol. Governor Kim Reynolds has signed a bill today (Tuesday), which officially moves the officers to the I-S-P starting July 1st. Supporters of the move say it will improve safety and lead to more efficient and consistent training.

The bill signing took place today (Tuesday) at the Dallas County weight scale.

The Iowa State Patrol says the move will enhance the footprint of state officers on the road and improve safety and the ability of officers to protect through increased efficiencies, consistency in purpose and operations, and consistent training.
