Iowa Gold Star Museum To Host Tomb Of Unknown Soldier Presentation

(CAMP DODGE, Iowa) -- CAMP DODGE near Des Moines is hosting a presentation on the Women of Arlington and the Guards of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier Thursday, May 18th. The presentation is by Tom Tudor, a prior U.S. Army sentinel from the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment -the "Old Guard" and former President of the Society of Former Guards of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. He will discuss present day female sentinels who guard the tomb as well as ladies who are buried in Arlington National Cemetery. The presentation begins at 7 p.m.

Visitors can enter Camp Dodge through the main gate at 7100 NW 70th Avenue, Johnston, Iowa. Photo identification is required for admittance to Camp Dodge for individuals 16 years and older.

Note: ALL motorcyclist (drivers and passengers) on Camp Dodge are required to wear personal protective equipment consisting of a helmet, eye protection, gloves, long pants, long-sleeved shirt or jacket, and over-the-ankle footwear while traveling on Camp Dodge. Motorcyclists without the required equipment may park their motorcycles at the NW Beaver Drive gate turnaround and walk to the museum (approximately three blocks).
