Nebraska Corrections reports the death of an inmate.
They say 67- year old Michael Gunther died Thursday evening at the Corrections' Reception and Treatment Center in Lincoln where he was being held.
Gunther’s sentence began in April, 2005.
He was serving a life sentence for first degree murder and use of a firearm to commit a felony out of Sarpy County.
While the cause of death has not yet been determined, Corrections says Gunther was being treated for a medical condition.
Under Nebraska law, whenever someone dies in law enforcement custody, a grand jury will investigate.
