DES MOINES, Iowa -- Much of Iowa could be getting a taste of summer going through the week.
"We'll be seeing temperatures well into the 80's really the next several days, especially Tuesday and Wednesday--mid 80's for a borad average, but it will depend a little bit on where you are in Iowa," says National Weather Service Meteorologist Jim Lee.
He says there will be a bit of a cool-down late in the week.
"A little bit of a cool-off Thursday and Friday, although even then it will be quite nice with highs in the upper 70's or so. It's due to a big cooler area of high pressure coming in from the Great Lakes, and honestly, it should clear us out for the bulk of the weekend," Lee says.
He says it will also be mostly rain-free through the Memorial Day weekend.
"Now through Friday I see very little opportunity for rainfall, and even over the weekend it looks sparse," he says.
The NWS forecast has a slight chance of rain in Central Iowa late Saturday night into early Sunday.
