National Survey Ranks Iowa Among the Most Affordable States for Renters

(Iowa) -- A new national survey ranks Iowa as one of the most affordable states for renters.

The study from MovingFeedback.com analyzed data from Zillow and found that rent prices in Iowa rose by 15 percent in the last three years, the second lowest in the country. Only West Virginia saw a smaller increase in rent prices at just over 12 percent. Iowans are paying about $1,085 a month for rent, and increase of $138 dollars since 2020. The state with the biggest jump in rent prices over the last three years is Colorado, where prices have risen 54 percent for an average price of $3,757.93 per month.
