(Rock Island, IL) -- The city of Rock Island and Augustana College are teaming up to build a new tennis complex.
The $1.5 million dollar project will include six NCAA tennis courts adjacent to campus, court lights, bleachers, bathrooms, and new parking spots.
Rock Island is leasing the land to the college which will pay for improvements for the courts.
Construction is set to start this spring and is expected to be finished by Labor Day.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held at the tennis courts this morning.
