(Omaha, NE) -- Passengers traveling through Omaha's Eppley Airfield this Memorial Day weekend should plan to arrive early.
Steve McCoy with the Omaha Airport Authority says a busy travel weekend is expected Thursday through Monday. "We're anticipating about 79,000 passengers to travel through the airport for this weekend." McCoy says that's a slight increase over previous years. "That's about a 2 & a half percent increase from the pre-pandemic, 2019 activity at Eppley."
McCoy says passengers flying out of Eppley this weekend should plan to get to the airport two hours before their flight. "So they can go through the parking, check-in, security screening process and that's probably most important in the early morning departures." McCoy also reminds passengers to check their flight status before leaving for the airport.
