(Cass County, NE) -- The Cass County, Nebraska Sheriff's Office says a deputy is recovering after being involved in a crash. Sheriff Robert Sorenson says The deputy contacted dispatch and indicated he'd been in a crash on Highway 75, near Young Road.
Investigators say a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze, driven by 18-year-old Jaden Spangler of Weeping Water, Ne. was northbound on Hwy 75. The driver left the road, then tried to re-enter the roadway, but lost control and crossed the center line, colliding with the driver's side of the Sheriff's vehicle. Both vehicles came to rest on the west side of Hwy 75.
Jaden Spangler and his female passenger were treated at the scene. The Cass County Deputy was transported by Murray Rescue to UNMC for what is believed to be minor injuries.
The driver of the Chevrolet Cruze was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. The Cass County Deputy was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
