The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) estimates that there will be 1.8 million college graduates in the United States in 2023. This number is expected to increase to 2.1 million by 2028. The majority of these graduates will be from bachelor's degree programs, with a smaller number from master's and doctoral degree programs. The top five fields of study for college graduates in 2023 are expected to be business, health, education, engineering, and social sciences.
