(Omaha, NE) -- Omaha native and actor John Beasley died on Tuesday.
Beasley's son Mike made the announcement on Facebook Tuesday afternoon. The 79 year old starred in over 60 movies and TV shows after becoming an actor in his 40s. Some of his work includes The Sum of All Fears, Rudy and The General's Daughter. He also founded the John Beasley Theater and Workshop here in Omaha in 2002.
Beasley worked for Union Pacific, before being an actor. He married his wife Judy in 1965 and has two children.
