Early West Nile Report In Nebraska

We are just beginning Summer, but the Three Rivers Public Health District confirms the area's first human case of West Nile virus for 2023.

That health department, which covers Washington, Saunders, and Dodge Counties, says the person who tested positive was not hospitalized.

West Nile is transmitted through mosquitoes that have bitten infected birds, and usually intensifies later in the Summer.
