(Iowa) -- Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds is requesting federal assistance following the partial collapse of an apartment building in Davenport.

Reynolds sent a letter to President Joe Biden on Wednesday requesting federal assistance for debris removal and demolition, as well as reimbursement for actions taken during the response. The Hotel Davenport Apartments partially collapsed on May 28th, killing three people. The letter says a building collapse of that magnitude requires federal assistance to support community recovery efforts.

The full text of the governor's letter is available online.
