(Chicago, IL) -- Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker has signed his fifth state budget during his administration.
He signed the fiscal Year 2024 budget yesterday in Chicago.
The $50 million plan includes investing in early childhood, K-12, schools, higher education, economic and workforce development, and measures to combat poverty and violence in the state.
The budget also contributes an additional $200 million than what was required to the state's pension systems.
