(Undated) -- The Iowa Board of Regents has approved a 3.5 percent tuition increase for the University of Iowa, Iowa State and the University of Northern Iowa. The Regents say the hike is necessary because of inflation and a 0% increase in appropriations from the Iowa General Assembly. The Board had asked for an increase of $32 million. The hike, which takes effect in the 2023-2024 school year means students will need to pay another 300-dollars per year for tuition.
