(Des Moines, IA) -- The Animal Rescue League of Iowa is caring for six underweight puppies found recently, that were covered with hundreds of ticks. The A-R-L was able to remove the ticks one by one, including many that were inside the dogs' ears. The pups are now on antibiotics and a feeding program.

The ARL says some people who found the dogs had called multiple shelters but none could take them because of high capacity issues.

Donations to help vulnerable animals like these puppies can be made online (https://ow.ly/u3J950OPJgt) or by mail/in-person (5452 NE 22nd St., Des Moines, IA 50313; RE: Puppies).
