(Davenport, IA) -- The City of Davenport hires two firms to investigate the partial collapse of the 116-year-old apartment building.
White Birch Group LLC and SOCOTEC Engineering will look into the May 28 partial collapse that killed three people, hurt several others, and left dozens homeless.
The duration of the assessment isn't yet known.
The completed report will be shared with relevant agencies and oversight authorities before it is shown to the public.
Earlier this week, building owner Andrew Wold pleaded guilty to failing to keep the building in a safe condition, paying nearly $400 in fines and court costs.
