(Des Moines, IA) -- The Iowa State Fair is hanging out the "help wanted" sign.
According to Iowa State Fair Director Jeremy Parsons, "We've got a lot of great seasonal employment opportunities if you're looking for a job for the summer. We have some jobs that are starting right now in some of our departments and we actually have a job fair coming up on July 6."
He says they're also looking for paid and volunteer help to work across the fair's 10-day run.
In addition, the Iowa State Fair is currently taking entries for it's various ribbon competitions.
The deadline to get those entries in is July 1.
The Iowa State Fair is August 10th through the 20th and tickets are on sale now.
Parsons says you can purchase tickets online using their website, you can come out to the fairgrounds to the ticket office after July 4, and there's also some in-person locations throughout the state.
More information on employment opportunities, competition entries, and ticket purchases can be found on their website, iowastatefair.org.
Parsons was interviewed by (WHO/WMT) Radio's Jeff Angelo.
