(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Fire caused major damage to a home in southeast Cedar Rapids this (Thursday) afternoon. Crews were called to the 700 block of 26th Street SE around 3 p.m. and found a single-story home on fire, with the occupant outside. Crews were able to put out the fire within 10-minutes, and cut a vent hole in the roof to release the fire and smoke in the attic space.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
