For the first time ever, legal sports betting in Nebraska begins today, but one economist says the state will eventually make an adjustment to the law.
"Betting in the casino itself will not last," Creighton University Economist Ernie Goss tells KFAB Radio News. "You will see, Nebraska will in the months, and perhaps years ahead will allow for remote sports betting."
Goss says his research shows sports betting will initially bring in newer and younger casino customers.
Right now, the sports betting is at "WarHorse Casino" in Lincoln.
Bets on in-state college home games are not allowed, though betting is allowed for the College World Series.
