(Des Moines, IA) -- The Iowa Dental Board is warning dental offices about scam phone calls from an individual impersonating an investigator or staff member. The calls are made from a spoofed phone line that appears to originate from the Iowa Dental Board office.

The Iowa Dental Board says the caller is reportedly trying to get banking information, and reminds offices the Board will not call a dental office and demand money or use high-pressure tactics to get information.

Those who are unsure about a phone call regarding business with our office, please hang up and call the Board office directly at 515-281-5157.

Dental offices that provided money or personal information in response to such calls should report the information to law enforcement. Additionally, dental offices can also report phishing attempts to the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center at https://www.ic3.gov/Home/FileComplaint.
