(Lincoln, NE) -- University of Nebraska finishes 29th in this year's Learfield Directors' Cup. It's the Huskers' best finish since the 2015-2016 school year when they finished 27th, and earns Athletic Director Trev Alberts a $160,000 bonus. The Huskers had finished no better than 35th since 2015-2016.
The Directors' Cup awards points to schools based on their athletic programs' postseason performance. The Huskers' best performing program was women's outdoor track and field, which finished 8th at nationals. Nebraska's 29th place finish is also good for 5th in the Big Ten behind Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, and Wisconsin.
Stanford won the Directors' Cup for the 26th time, claiming three national titles this year in men's gymnastics, women's rowing, and women's water polo. Texas, Ohio State, Virginia, and Florida round out the top five.
