La Vista Police Chief Bob Lausten is going to retire at the end of the year.
His last day on the job will be New Year's Eve.
The retirement agreement with the cIty council is a personnel matter out of an executive session, so no details are being released.
Lausten has been on paid administrative leave since he self reported he failed to pull over for a speeding accusation in Mills County in March.
He has been La Vista Police Chief since 2002.
