(Davenport, IA) -- Construction is officially underway on a new community center in Davenport. Yesterday city leaders and construction workers broke ground on the Fairmount Community Center. The 4,500 square foot building will be located in west Davenport near the Fairmount Branch Public Library. The total price tag is about $2.8-million and it's being fund with money from the American Rescue Plan. Construction should be done sometime next spring.
