There have been many tree damage reports in the Omaha/Council Bluffs Metro area and throughout eastern Nebraska and western Iowa from the intense thunderstorms and wind that came through during the Wednesday morning commute.
And, of course, in some neighborhoods, that brings down power lines;
Thousands of Omaha Public Power District customers have been without power, with most of those in Douglas and Washington Counties;
Power transformers were seen on fire in the Omaha Blackstone area west of downtown.
Traffic has been slowed by signals malfunctioning.
On the Iowa side, MidAmerica Energy crews have been working on restoring power to thousands in Council Bluffs.
