(Des Moines, IA) -- The Des Moines Area Religious Council Food Pantry Network reports another record-breaking month in June as it's seen the busiest 12-month period ever.
DMARC says over the last year, nearly 60,000 people made more than 250,000 visits for monthly assistance.
They say one in three people were first-time visitors.
Last month, the food pantry's network saw its second-highest monthly total in 47 years with just under 22,000 people seeking assistance.
The DMARC food pantry network has 15 partner food pantry sites and additional mobile food pantry locations.
