(Mechanicsville, Iowa) -- The Iowa State Patrol says one man is dead after being hit by a car in Cedar County.
The ISP says the incident happened Tuesday night around 11:30 on Highway 30 west of Mechanicsville. Investigators say the man was walking on the shoulder of the highway but eventually ended up walking into the highway, where he was hit by a car. The man sustained fatal injuries. Authorities have not yet released the victim's name.
The incident remains under investigation.
