Nebraska’s latest unemployment numbers are out, and the rate for June remains at 1.9 percent.
The State Department of Labor says the rate is unchanged from May and is down 0.3 percentage points from the June 2022 rate of 2.2 percent.
The Nebraska rate is tied for second lowest in the country.
The national unemployment rate for June of this year is 3.6 percent.
"We're seeing alot of seasonal impacts at this point," the State Labor Department's Scott Hunzeker tells KFAB Radio News. "So, the kinds of things you would expect to be going up like construction; some of the leisure and hospitality work is going up; education is seeing the seasonal trends."
Hunseker notes there is steady growth in the Nebraska non-farm job count, with a record high for the second month in a row.
