Suspect Dies After Police Chase From Des Moines To Burlington

(Burlington, IA) -- A man's dead after police say he ran from officers in Des Moines and ended up in Burlington. Police in Des Moines say 31-year-old Joshua Thompson was chased by Iowa State Patrol troopers Sunday afternoon after being wanted in connection with a domestic violence investigation. They say Thompson drove all the way to Burlington with the victim in his car. Stop sticks were eventually used to stop his car in the 200 block of North Gertrude Street in Burlington. Police say once they got to his car Thompson was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The victim in the domestic violence case is safe.
