(Rock Island, IL) -- The Rock Island-Milan School District has an interim superintendent for the second half of the school year. This week the school board approved Lanty McGuire to take over the position January 1st through June 30th, 2024. McGuire retired as superintendent of the Moline-Coal Valley School District back in 2019. He'll replace Alan Boucher after he steps down as interim superintendent at the end of 2023. Due to the Illinois Pension Code, neither person can work for more than 120 days. The school district aims to hire a full-time superintendent by July 1st, 2024.
