There have been 911 communications phone problems in some counties across Nebraska, but the service has been restored in Douglas, Sarpy, and Washington Counties according to law enforcement and fire and rescue agencies.
The Governor's office reported Thursday night there had been regional 911 system failures in some Nebraska counties.
Many Nebraskans watching the Husker football game received a text message from local agencies.
Alternate numbers for emergency services were made available during the outage.
Sarpy County says their network provider experienced what they described as a network event that disrupted calls to 911 across Nebraska, and the provider is investigating the source of the disruption.
