Omaha Police continue to investigate a fatal pick up-bicycle collision in northwest Omaha, as they release a name of the victim.
They say the crash early Saturday evening at 72nd and Pratt Streets involved a homemade, motorized bicycle that was operated by 45-year old John Turpen of Omaha .
Investigators say a northbound pick up hit the westbound bicycle which had gone through a stop sign at the intersection.
Omaha Fire paramedics took John Turpen to a hospital with serious head injuries, and police say he died a few hours later after surgery.
Police say he was not wearing a helmet when the crash happened.
