Nebraska Republican U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts defends his support of U.S. financial and military aid to Ukraine by pointing out Vladimir Putin has long said he will re-establish a Russia empire.
"And if he's successful in Ukraine, one of the things he's said is that the Baltic States, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania are breakaway states," Ricketts tells KFAB Radio News. " But they're also NATO members, so if he tries to invade those, that's World War Three;"
Ricketts says he understands the concern "because it's alot of money, there's no doubt about it," but there is proper oversight that included a recent Defense Department briefing.
Ricketts was interviewed by Gary Sadlemyer on Newsradio 1110 KFAB.
