(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Some Iowa Elections board members think the Cedar Rapids School District almost crossed the line. The state oversight panel told the Cedar Rapids Gazette that the school board shouldn't have used board resources to collect signatures for their bond referendum. State law says school board resources can't be used to promote a Yes vote on bond issues, but the ethics panel says using board resources to collect signatures is still a grey area. The Cedar Rapids school board needs 60-percent approval from voters for the 220-million dollar facilities bond on November 7th.
