Meteorologists at the Omaha office of the National Weather Service, located in Valley, say record warm temperatures are possible Friday in the Omaha/Council Bluffs-Lincoln region with breezy, southerly winds.
They also say a very high rangeland fire danger is expected, and any fires could spread rapidly.
A burn ban is in effect for Douglas County.
There is a 20% chance of thunderstorms across northeast Nebraska Friday evening.
