Programs Helping Cedar Rapids and Marion Homeowners With Repairs

(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- New programs in the Cedar Rapids and Marion area will help low-income families pay for interior and exterior repairs.

The Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program in Cedar Rapids received a large grant to help homeowners with repairs post-derecho in 2020.

According to the City of Cedar Rapids website, the city was awarded $2.5 million through the Iowa Economic Development Authority.

The city's website says residents can receive up to $24,999 in funds or up to 50% of the pre-disaster assessed property value.

Marion residents can get funding of up to $20,000 from the American Rescue Plan Act.

Program requirements can be found on it's website.

Both of the programs will be administered by the East Central Iowa Council of Governments.
