(Moline, IA) -- The cities of Moline and Rock Island will get nearly $40,000 dollars of funding to help reduce crime.
In an announcement from congressman Eric Sorenson Thursday, the funds are coming from the U.S. Department of Justice.
The grant funds will be divided between the two towns.
Moline plans to buy technologies to support its Crisis Containment Unit.
Rock Island will use the money to buy a utility task vehicle to help drive around through large crowds.
The funds are from the DOJ's Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program.
