(Buffalo, IA) -- The city of Buffalo is working on improving its water system after tests showed high levels of forever chemicals, or PFAS.
PFAS carry a risk of adverse health effects, when consumed over time.
A city council meeting was held Monday to discuss the city's water situation.
Water hardness was also a topic discussed at the meeting, with local business owners complaining that water hardness is disrupting certain machines, such as an ice machine.
Buffalo members say they don't have a solution yet for the hardness problems but will look into creating a new well if necessary.
