(Davenport, IA) -- Quad Cities residents will soon have view of a partial eclipse of the sun
Taking place this Saturday, October 14th, a partial eclipse which means that the moon's elliptical orbit will be as far away from Earth as possible, will be visible.
Several viewing parties are planned in the Quad Cities.
Augustana College in Rock Island will host a viewing event at the John Deere Planetarium at 11:00 a.m.
The QC Astronomical Society will host events at the Rogalski Center at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, and at the BettPlex in Bettendorf, at 10:30 a.m.
The Rock Island Library on 30th Street has a viewing party scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m.
