(Moline, IL) -- Governor JB Pritzker appoints Bob Vitas, a Moline city official, to the Illinois High-Speed Railway Commission.
The commission's goal is to have a statewide plan for merging a high-speed rail from Chicago to St. Louis, including a Quad Cities stop.
Vitas says he will be in this position until the Illinois Legislature figures out a plan for a rail to service Illinois.
The commission was formed in 2021 and is authorized to work through 2026.
