A Third of Students At ISU Say They Don't Have Enough Food

(Ames, IA) -- A Third of Students At Iowa State University Say They Don't Have Enough Food.

A survey by ISU Student Wellness finds 31% of students don't have reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food.

A student organization food pantry called SHOP, which stands for Students Helping Our Peers, buys food from the Food Bank of Iowa, with money donated by the ISU Foundation and other donations.

The most recent national surveys also show 30% of college students nationwide experience food insecurity.
