Home heating with natural gas is expected to cost less this coming winter in the Omaha/ Council Bluffs region and other parts of Nebraska.
"One of the reasons that you are seeing expected lower natural gas prices is that the storage levels nationally are higher than last year," according to Tracey Christensen of the Metropolitan Utilities District.
She tells KFAB Radio News a normal or warmer than normal winter will also save on home heating costs this winter.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration forecasts natural gas home heating prices nationwide could be as much as 21-percent lower this year.
