(Polk County, IA) -- A Polk County Sheriff's deputy is recovering after being hurt while helping a stranded driver during snowy conditions over the weekend. The Sheriff's Office says a second vehicle lost control and slammed into the back of the deputy's patrol car on Highway 141 Saturday at 5 p.m. The deputy is expected to be okay.
