(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- One person is dead, and several are recovering from smoke and burns after a dramatic rescue from a burning apartment building in Cedar Rapids Tuesday. They were trapped on the upper floors with heavy smoke in the hallways preventing them from using the fire escapes. Firefighters used ladders to evacuate them out their second and third floor windows.
