(Rock Island, IL) -- A Rock Island alderwoman is retiring.
The city announced today that Alderwoman Judith Gilbert is resigning from city council.
Gilbert says she is retiring and moving to Eldridge to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.
She has been working for the city since 2016 and has represented Rock Island's Third Ward since May, 2021.
Her last meeting will be on December 30th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Her final day will be on January 12th.
