(West Des Moines, IA) -- Technology has helped to reunite pre-civil war era family bibles, found in West Des Moines with descendants of the original owners. The West Des Fire Department found the bibles in an abandoned home, and brought them to the library. Staff used the Ancestry Library Edition and the internet and tracked down the great-great grandson of the original Bible owner in California. The library says the family is delighted to have the pieces of family history back in their possession.
