Nevada, Iowa Couple Welcomes New Year's Baby

(Des Moines, IA) -- The first baby of the year at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines was born around 1:30 New Year's Day. Maddie Sue is the 5th child for Steven and Rebecca Hovick of Nevada. Mercy One-Des Moines welcomed the first baby of the new year, Kyler Abell, at 3:24 a.m.
