Iowa Gas Prices Hold Steady to Start the New Year

(Iowa) -- Iowa gas prices are holding steady to start the new year.

Triple A reports the average price for regular unleaded in Iowa is $2.79 a gallon, down a penny from a week ago. Prices vary regionally across the state, including:

  • Des Moines: $2.77
  • Ames: $2.87
  • Iowa City: $2.85
  • Cedar Rapids: $2.82
  • Waterloo/Cedar Falls: $2.83
  • Quad Cities (Iowa side): $2.72
  • Quad Cities (Illinois side): $3.24
  • Dubuque: $2.87
  • Sioux City: $2.72
  • Council Bluffs: $2.68

The average price for regular unleaded nationally is $3.10 a gallon.
