The Omaha Public Power District urges customers to lower their thermostats by two-to-four-degrees, avoid using appliances like dishwashers during peak usage times. and have extra clothes, blankets, and other supplies on hand in case of a power outage.
OPPD says as of this time, their regional transmission organization, Southwest Power Pool, has not called upon consortium member utilities in 14 states to curtail energy usage.
Omaha Public Power District says they are proactively asking their customers to conserve energy for the next several days.
